Fried Firm Bean Curd (炸豆干)

This is today's dinner is fried bean curd with mayonnaise and some fish flakes.

This is my first time to have fried tofu this way, usually I have it with chili sauce or some malay style soy sauce with chopped peanuts. I was thinking to try something new with fried tofu, found mayonnaise sauce in the fridge, I thought it might be nice so I give it a try. Surprisingly, it tastes yummy! For those on diet, this dish is a bit on high cal though.

Super simple recipe (2 servings):

  • 2 pcs firm tofu (each pc cut into 4 pcs)
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2-3 tbsp Dried Fish Flakes (材鱼,Japanese food, I don't know what it called in English)

Tips: Dry tofu with paper towel before frying to prevent oil from spattering all over the cook top.
