Vietnamese Spring Rolls

Vietnamese Spring Rolls

Yummy lunch! It is very easy to get ingredients for Vietnamese cooking at my area, most of the Asian grocery shops here are owned by Vietnamese. There is a street where all the Asian shops are, Tak and I called it "Chinatown". We shop there pretty often but today I bought the rice papers for the first time. On the way back home I stopped by at fish market and bought some cooked prawn. Life is easier these days, a lot of ingredients sold in the shop are ready-to-use.

The spring rolls were easy to make, tasty and healthy. It is like having the salad wrapped in the rice paper. The common main ingredients are prawn, lettuce, shredded carrot, cucumber and bean vermicelli. But, do let your imagination run wild a little and give your tastebuds a kick with any other ingredients you like. As for the sauce, I would recommend soy and fish sauce based homemade sauce. This sauce is also good for Thai Mango Salad.

Sauce:
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cm ginger, minced
2 bird-eye chilli, sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp light soy sauce (I prefer Chinese brand)
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
