Seaweed with Cheese [Super Easy Appertizer!]

Seaweed with Cheese

Crispy seaweed topped with cheese - a super easy appertizer dish for drinkers! T had it with sake and he asked for second serve. I tricked him with hidden wasabi, he loved the extra kick.

Seaweed with Cheese

Ingredients (2 servings):
2 sheets Seaweed, cut into desired shape
2-3 slices Sliced Cheese, cut into small pieces (same number of pieces as seaweed)
Wasabi Paste
Green for garnish (optional)

Methods:

  1. Brush each piece of seaweed with a bit of wasabi paste, place a piece of cheese over it.
  2. Toast in toaster or oven until the cheese is browned lightly.
  3. Serve immediately for best result.

  5. Shirley,
Thanks. Not sure anyone else has done that but it was a creation with what I had in the fridge.

If you are making this, make sure you serve it immediately. Seaweed wont stay crispy for long.
    cheers,
    Lydia

  6. Seaweed with Cheese! I would never have thought, but I reckon it sounds yummy. Especially with the Saki. My girlfriends birthday on Friday, so I will give these a go to get the evening going. Thanks for the recipe!

  7. Hi Lydia,

thanks for this share. It is indeed a very interesting combination. Just a quick question, instead of Wasabi paste, what can we use to substitute ? How about mayo?

    Thanks.

  8. Hi Kathleen,

If you want it hot, can add little bit of mustard. Or, dash of curry powder will make it special. You can try mayo if you want, but dont add too much... let me know abt it.

    cheers,
    Lydia

  9. Hi Lydia,

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning to do some finger food for my son's party this friday. Am thinking of using mayo in this coz I think children cannot take 'hot' stuff loh... I'll let you know the outcome.

    Thanks again for the tips.
