T likes salted chicken (盐焗鸡) very much thus I tried to re-create something similar in this dish with really simple ingredients. Honestly, I was lazy then. This is an all-in-one dish with minimum preparation and washing.
Ingredients:
1 no. chicken leg (kampung/free range), chopped
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp sesame oil
Broccoli
Carrot (optional)
Methods:
This is so simple, yet beautiful. I love how a beautiful dish can be made from a simple list of ingredients:)
ReplyDeleteThis look great :) Simple and easy to prepare.
ReplyDeleteNice...will try ur recipe tomolo..
ReplyDeleteI have a question. did u marinated the chicken together with soy sauce too? because the colour is a bit brown. I never try steamed chicken but looking forward to try this recipe since it is soo simple.
ReplyDeletenfmujiman,
ReplyDeleteNo, I did not use soy sauce for this one, but sure you can add any seasoning (cooking wine, ginger, garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, etc) to suit your taste. I used free range chicken, its colous was bit yellowish than farm raised chicken.
I'll follow your recipe to the last detail and hopefully i can have it done perfectly. 'll try it and share with my family.
ReplyDeleteSo simple yet loaded with flavor...love it. With minimal time this makes for a perfect week night dish!
ReplyDeletesimple and yummy indeed!

ReplyDeleteHi Lydia, it's great to find your site :) I love your posts and how good all the dishes look.
ReplyDeleteI want to ask you about steaming. I have steamed chicken a few times, but i always end up with too much "juice"/gravy, which caused the chicken to taste soggy. Is it normal? The chicken in the pic looks so nice!
roachz,
ReplyDeleteIt is normal but if you don't like gravy it can be prevented. Cover steamer cover with a muslin fabric to prevent water from dripping into the dish.
cheers,
Lydia
