Homemade Fish Balls

Lunch Menu: Fishy soup noodle with fish balls. My eldest sis taught me how to made these fish balls, she learned from her mother in-law. It's hard to find fresh fish balls here, do not like the one in the fridge. Last time used to buy fresh fish balls from the supermarket in Singapore, 10 fish balls cost S$1.20 or so. There is fish paste selling at the fish market but it is quite expensive and the smallest pack is 500gm (can make lots of fish balls).

How did I make fish balls?
Fillet the mackerel fish and scrapping off the flesh using a spoon. Then use a spoon to mash the flesh until smooth paste is formed. At this point, add in salt and pepper to taste, and continue to mash or stir until consistent pale pink colour paste (no trace of fish flake) is formed.

Hold some fish paste in plam and squeeze through between fingers as shown, then use a spoon to transfer the fish ball straight away to the boiling water / soup.
