Ingredients (3-4 servings):
400gm prawn (medium size)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
1/4 tsp chinese
5-spice powder
1 tbsp all purpose flour
2 tsbp corn flour
2 tbsp Plum Sauce
Oil for deep frying
Methods:
- Clean and devein the prawn, then make a deep cut the back but do not cut through.
- Season with the salt, pepper and five-spice powder for about 15 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix together all purpose flour and corn flour. Add in the prawn and shake the bowl gently to coat.
- Shake off extra flour and deep fry till golden brown.
- Drain on a paper towel. Place prawns on a serving plate and drizzle the plum sauce over them. Or serve with the plum sauce at the side as dipping sauce.
