Pita Bread Sandwich

Pita Bread Sandwich

Since moved back to Malaysia, I hardly make sandwiches. T loves veges sandwich, used to make it often for his lunchbox when we were living in Sydney. Both of us kind of missing those days with sandwiches, and life in Sydney. Baked some pita breads to satisfy both our craving and mind. Had it plain with coffee for breakfast, then made two type of sandwiches for lunch - spicy tuna and veges, and cheese and veges. It is a pita day!

For pita bread, I did not use rolling pin to flatten the dough. Guess what did I use? Pasta maker! Yes, pasta maker can be used for this bread, I just discovered it today. I flatten balls of dough a little with fingers, then put them through pasta maker's rollers. I find it easier this way, thickness of breads will also be more consistent than rolling with rolling pin.

  5. Very refreshing sandwich. I like pita bread too, easy to go along with any filling. I like to fill with potato salad sometimes, pretty nice for hot summer

  7. That's a great idea - using a pasta maker! My homemade pitas never end up thin enough or puffy enough with a rolling pin. Yours look beautiful; I will have to try :)

  8. Anonymous,
Oven temperature has something to do with the puffy pita bread too.
