Orange Chiffon Cake

Orange Chiffon Cake

Something not so sweet, but sweet enough to satisfy my craving for sweet snack. Basically, I like chiffon cake as it contains lesser amount of sugar and fat compared to other cakes such as pound cake. I can happily eat it without guilty feeling.

I always used this chiffon cake recipe for my chiffon cake, tried it with matcha and coffee. So far all turned out well, with great aroma, flavour and texture. For this orange chiffon cake, I substituted tea and milk with orange juice and added zest of an orange.

Glad that John loved this chiffon cake too. He had a slice soon after I sliced the cake. After came back from shopping, he got himself another slice from the table. Few minutes later, he pointed to the cake and asked our guest for it when he saw him eating the last slice! Gomen ne, Kobayashi-san. I was so embarrassed then, John ohh John... mama will bake it for you again. Okay?

  7. Hi Lydia, did you omit milk completely from this orange chiffon cake recipe? Thanks! :)

  8. Kikiree Khoo,
Yes. I used fresh orange juice, so didn't use any milk. If you are using orange concentrate, top up with milk to get total amount of liquid in recipe.

  11. Hi Lydia,
I like chiffon cake but not very good in baking chiffon. You mentioned that u substituted 40ml earl grey and 30mlmilk to orange juice (may i know the measurement for orange, is it 70ml)?

  12. Hi Jes,

Yes, use 70ml fresh orange juice. If you are using concentrate juice/cordial, you need to add some water or milk to make up to 70ml in total. All the best!
    cheers,
    Lydia
